Herbal ear candles contain tea tree oil, lavender oil, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, and marjoram.

• Tea tree oil has many medicinal properties. It is also antiseptic, antiviral, antifungal and stimulates the immune system. It can be used for a variety of common ailments like cold, flu, thrush, sinusitis, cold sores, fungal infection, oily skin and infected wounds. A surprising use for tea tree oil is as a disinfectant to purify air. It is suitable for home use as well as in a hospital room as it does not interfere with other treatment for the patient.

• The familiar aroma of peppermint is known internationally for both its warming and cooling properties.

• Eucalyptus oil is best known as a decongestant inhalation for chesty coughs, colds and catarrh.

• Marjoram has a calming effect on the nervous system, relieving anxiety, stress and perhaps deeper psychological traumas. It strengthens the mind and helps to confront issues. May give a feeling of comfort in cases of grief and loneliness since it has a warming effect on the emotions.

Ear candles are used to clean ear canals safely and effectively. Ear drops cannot fully penetrate the entire ear canal as the heated smoke from ear candles can. The wax inside the ear is warmed up, loosened, and then pulled up by the vacuum created by the burning ear candle.

Ear candles are used on a person with the assistance of another by inserting the small end through a paper plate (not included) and placing that end into the ear. While the person using the ear candle lies sideways (with the ear candle pointing up toward the ceiling), the other person lights the ear candle with a match. When the ear candle burns down to about 3" from the paper plate, the other person, removes it from the ear and puts the fire out by dipping the cone into a glass of water.

These ear candles are hollow cones, about ten inches long and are are made from 100% unbleached muslin in a high grade, food quality wax (this prevents dripping and crumbling of wax and cloth inside the cone).
